This month's featured director, Tammy Gustafson, President


Tammy Gustafson, Secretary, Friends of Florida State Parks graduating from The Ohio State University with a BA in Advertising, Tammy began her career in Marketing and Sales as an account executive for a local FOX affiliate in Columbus, Ohio.

After moving to Orlando in 1995, Tammy spent three years in related Marketing and Sales roles as an account executive for a UPN broadcast affiliate and managed major publicity accounts for Gilbert and Manjura Marketing, including St. Johns County, FL Visitors and Convention Bureau.

Tammy is currently the Director of National Sales for Universal Orlando Resort. Tammy joined Universal Orlando in September of 1997 as part of the Universal Studios Marketing team and was responsible for building the Universal Studios Florida brand on a global basis- growing to two theme parks, a night-time entertainment complex and three on-site resorts.

Appointed by the Governor’s office to the Florida Commission on Tourism, Tammy has served on the board of Visit Florida since 2005 and currently serves as Chair of the Marketing Council and serves on the Executive committee. Tammy also serves on the board for the Kissimmee/Osceola County Chamber of Commerce/Osceola Resort Area Council.

Tammy has participated in Leadership Orlando and has been VP Publicity for the Central Florida Chapter of the American Marketing Association. She is an active member of the Clermont United Methodist Church and resides in Winter Garden, FL with her husband, Andrew and two sons Reece (8) and Ty (5).

Tammy’s passion for the state parks stems from her rural background, growing up in Ohio on a horse farm. Through organizations such as the Extension service of the Agricultural Department, Tammy developed her love of the outdoors, nature and animals. She extends that familiarity to her family and enjoys the parks through both of her sons’ eyes as they camp, fish, swim and explore the natural beauty of Florida every chance they get.
