Harvey Campbell has been actively involved in promoting nature-based and historic tourism for Florida for over 22 years. As the Director of Tourism for the Columbia County Tourist Development Council, Harvey has primary responsibility for building tourism economic in his region of North Central Florida. Harvey serves or has served on the boards of directors of Visit Florida, the Florida Commission on Tourism, the Florida Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus, Original Florida and the Florida Festivals and Events Association.
Columbia County enjoys a great partnership with Florida State Parks and some of the most highly rated springs, rivers and civil war era historic sites are enjoyed by residents and visitors to this lovely County. Harvey served as chairman of the Columbia County School Board and in that role he saw the additional value of the state parks system as a venue for educating young people about how to work together to nurture the environment and protect our historical resources.
