Sally Hess has been volunteering for Florida State Parks since she first moved to Florida over 10 years ago. Having worked in both large corporate environments and smaller not-for-profits, she was well-qualified to help guide the Friends of the Island Parks from initial organizational planning and set-up through final fund-raising for opening the Honeymoon Island Nature Center (see link: Nature Center Website)
Since —retirement†a few years ago, she volunteers for a variety of organizations and completed CERT (Citizen Emergency Response Team) and Permaculture Design credentials.
Sally is in love with the diversity of Florida State Parks. Their current ability and future potential for teaching us about the incredible value of our natural environment and how to protect, sustain and improve that environment is unmatched.
